In the 1960s, healthcare professionals wanted to see a healthy alternative to butter and lard. Unilever responded by creating the first high polyunsaturated fat spread, Flora.

Flora launched in 1964 in the UK. Since then, it has become a well-recognised and well-loved brand, being voted most trusted margarine/butter in 2009^*.

Introducing Flora pro.activ

Launched in 2000, the Flora pro.activ range contains plant sterols, which are proven to actively reduce cholesterol. The range now includes low fat spreads, mini drinks and milk.

Our pro.activists programme encourages people to lower their cholesterol as part of a healthier lifestyle.
