Flora Vitamins & Omegas
All about omega oils and vitamins in Flora
You’ve probably heard about the benefits of omega 3 and 6, which are known as ‘good fats’. Health experts believe they’re an important part of a balanced diet, because our bodies can’t make omega 3 and 6, it makes sense to include them in your family’s diet wherever you can.
Why are omega 3 and 6 important for children?
Children need omega 3 and 6 for normal growth and development. They are linked to maintaining cholesterol levels†.
How does Flora give children omega 3 and 6?
Our spreads are made with plant oils (sunflower, linseed and rapeseed), which naturally contain omega 3 and 6. There are plenty of ways to use Flora in your family’s food – for example, with bread, in baking or with cooked vegetables – so you can help them get even more omega 3 and 6 every day.
How much omega 3 and 6 should my children have?
The health experts believe children need around 2g of omega 3 and 10g of omega 6 every day to help them grow up healthily. Two portions (2 x 10g) of Flora a day contribute a significant amount to this. Omega 3 and 6 also help to maintain normal cholesterol† levels – another health benefit for your family.
There’s plenty more family goodness in Flora
To help you keep your family healthy, we add Vitamin D – which is essential for a balanced diet and helps maintain normal bones. In fact, our spreads are one of food sources of Vitamin D, and are lower in saturated fat than butter. So they’re a healthy choice for kids and adults.
