Creating spring cupcakes
Cupcakes are such fun to make and a great way to introduce kids to baking. Flora have a brilliant Family Fun Guide with a fabulous All-in-One Cupcake recipe that is so easy, and a perfect starting point to let your imagination go wild!
Spring is full of celebrations. Whether you’re baking for Easter, a May Day party or making a beautiful surprise for Mother’s Day, red velvet cupcakes always have the wow factor.
You will need
- Easy-peasy cupcake mix
- 2tsp cocoa
- 2tsp red food colouring
- 50g Flora Buttery
- 150g cream cheese
- 300g icing sugar
- 1tsp vanilla extract
Using the easy-peasy cupcakes recipe, assemble all the ingredients, but take out 2tbsp self-raising flour and replace with cocoa.
Just before you put the mixture in the paper cases, add 2 tsp of red food colouring and mix well – the little ones will love this part! While they’re cooking, make the cream cheese icing then put it back in the fridge to chill.
When the cupcakes are cool, spread the cream cheese icing all over the top of the cakes.
