Five Day Lunchbox Plan
Oh So Amelia blogger, Kerry, lives in a little town in North Wales with her two children – Amelia and Harry. They love nothing more than embarking on an adventure both in the Welsh countryside and in the kitchen!
Five day lunchbox plan
Here is my five day healthy lunchbox meal plan, which I created using Flora’s Lunchbox Tips and Ideas Booklet as a rough guide to help give me some inspiration. I have tried to include a main, snack and some fruit for each lunch, as well as a few home baked treats too. I think it’s always good to give them a varied lunch recipes, including some of their favourite snacks and foods, as well as some new ones - especially if they are fussy like my daughter.
- Half a bagel with cheese
- Handful of sliced celery sticks
- Seedless purple grapes and apple slices
- Cherry tomatoes and cheese
For today's packed lunch I cut up half a bagel with Philadelphia cheese (Harry will have the other half) as Amelia never eats a whole one. I put a handful of grapes and a sliced apple into a little container, these are great for holding fruit and snacks and will keep them from getting mixed up with other foods. I sliced up some cherry tomatoes and cheese and put them on these mini skewers as Amelia loves picking them off.
- Bread with ham using Flora Original
- Handful of cucumber sticks
- Cheese cut into small pieces
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Home baked flapjack
Today I prepared bread with cured ham and cut them into squares - is it just me or do kids eat sandwiches better when they're cut up? Amelia loves cucumber, so I cut some of these up into sticks and put a handful of cherry tomatoes into a silicone case. I think it's good to give a balanced lunch each day so Amelia will always have something savoury and sweet. Today she chose a yoghurt. I also baked some yummy golden syrup flapjacks earlier in the week using Flora Buttery.
- Chicken wrap with lettuce
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cucumber sticks
- Watermelon slice
- Houmous and breadsticks
To switch things up a bit today I made a chicken wrap and added a bit of lettuce, which Amelia is loving recently. I then included some fruit and salad, she's not overly keen on blueberries but I'm trying to get her to eat them, so have included something she doesn't usually have. I've also added a handful of breadsticks and some houmous which is Amelia's favourite!
- Tuna pasta and sweetcorn
- Cocktail sausages
- Handful of sliced strawberries
- Chocolate chip cake
Today we're using some left over tuna pasta and sweetcorn I made the day before and I'll be having the rest for my lunch too. I also made a chocolate chip cake loaf earlier in the week so Amelia will be having some of this as a small treat.
- Pitta bread with Flora Original
- Salami cut into small pieces
- Sugarsnap peas
- Apple slices
- Cherry tomatoes
- Raisins and sultanas
Today's lunch looks a rather lot but the banana will probably be eaten at snack time. Amelia loves pitta bread so I have cut some of these up and included some apple slices, a handful of sliced cherry tomatoes, some sugarsnap peas and some salami cut up as am I am trying to get Amelia to try new foods.
