Walnut Cinnamon Swirls

Fancy something sweet? These easy Cinnamon Rolls with a hint of walnut will satisfy any sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • - Dough -
  • 500 g strong plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 7 g packet easy blend yeast
  • 40 g Flora Dairy Free Walnut, melted
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 300 ml warm milk (lukewarm)
  • - Filling -
  • 25 g Flora Dairy Free Walnut, melted
  • 150 g mixed dried fruits and walnuts e.g. raisins, chopped figs or dates and walnuts
  • 70 g soft brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2-3 tablespoons runny honey, for brushing

Directions

  1. For the dough, mix flour and salt together, make a well in the centre and add yeast.
  2. Mix Flora with milk and egg and add to flour.
  3. Mix to a soft dough and knead on a lightly-floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough back in the bowl and cover with lightly greased cling film or a polythene bag.
  5. Leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until double in size.
