  • Why have you changed the Flora packs?
     
    We like a bit of a change from time to time and have updated our packaging to keep it modern and attractive. We’ve decided to reignite Flora’s heart and re-emphasize our brand credentials and DNA around heart health, taste and naturalness.
  • What is new about Flora? Does it taste different?
     

    We have slightly changed the recipes of our Flora Lighter, Flora 100% Natural Ingredients (former Flora Original) and Flora Buttery spreads.

    • Flora Lighter benefits from a reduction in calories from 27kcals to 25kcals per 10g portion. Fat levels have also decreased from 30% to 28%. Flora Lighter remains certified vegan and dairy free and is delicious for spreading and topping.
    • Flora 100% Natural Ingredients is the ideal product for margarine lovers and is great for spreading, cooking and baking. We’ve decreased the fat level from 79% to 70%. Flora 100% Natural Ingredients remains certified vegan and dairy free.
    • Flora Buttery: we’ve decreased the fat level from 79% to 75%. Flora Buttery is blended with buttermilk and is delicious for spreading, cooking and baking. It contains all the goodness of Omega 3 & 6.

  • Is Flora better for me than butter?

    Our Flora spreads range contains less saturated fat than butter for a happier, healthier heart. We use a natural blend of plant oils which means Flora naturally contains Omega 3 and 6 which are essential good fats for your body.
  • What does ‘plant goodness’ mean? Why is Flora good for you?

    Flora contains a blend of plant oils that naturally contain Omega 3 & 6, which are essential good fats for your body. These essential fats are needed for normal growth and development of children. They also contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
  • Can the Flora spreads be frozen?

     
    Flora 100% Natural Ingredients and Flora Buttery can be frozen. We recommend defrosting these products in the refrigerator. We do not recommend freezing Flora Lighter, as this could impact the quality of the spread.
  • How long will the Flora spreads stay fresh in the fridge once opened?
    They will stay fresh until the best before date printed on the lids.

  • Are all Flora products suitable for vegetarians?

     
    Yes, all Flora spreads are suitable for a vegetarian diet.
  • Are all Flora products suitable for vegans?

    Flora 100% Natural Ingredients and Flora Lighter are suitable for vegans and are certified by the Vegan Society. Flora Buttery contains buttermilk and it isn’t suitable for a vegan diet.
  • Are all Flora products certified dairy free?

    No. If you are looking for a dairy free product, you should opt for Flora 100% Natural Ingredients or Flora Lighter. You can also try Flora Plant B+tter which is a dairy free alternative to dairy butter, suitable for those looking for an alternative to block-format dairy-butter.
  • Are all Flora products gluten free?

     
    Yes, all our Flora products are certified gluten free.

  • What are the ingredients in Flora spreads?

     

    Flora 100% Natural Ingredients: Plant oils (rapeseed, palm*, sunflower 3%, linseed), water, salt 1.35%, plant-based emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), fava bean protein, natural flavourings, vitamins A and D.

    Flora Lighter: Water, plant oils (rapeseed, palm*, sunflower 4%, linseed), salt 1.3%, plant-based emulsifiers (sunflower lecithin, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), natural flavourings, vinegar, vitamins A and D.

    Flora Buttery: Plant oils (rapeseed, palm*, sunflower 3%, linseed), water, BUTTERMILK 10%, salt 1.35%, plant-based emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), natural flavourings, vitamin A.

    *Flora buys 100% sustainable palm oil.
  • What type of fat is used to structure the product?

     
    We use a blend of plant oils in our Flora spreads to obtain a spreadable texture. These oils include rapeseed, sunflower, linseed, and responsibly sourced palm oils. Flora supports and only buys certified sustainable palm oil.
  • Does the Flora range still contain Omega 3 and 6?

     
    All Flora spreads contain Omega 3 and 6, with Flora 100% Natural Ingredients being rich in Omega 3. These essential fats are needed for normal growth and development of children. They also contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
  • What vitamins does the product contain?

     
    - Flora Original and Flora Light contain Vitamins A and D.
    - Flora Buttery contains Vitamin A.
  • Why have you changed the fat levels in Flora 100% Natural Ingredients/Flora Lighter/Flora Buttery?

    At Flora, we are continually listening to consumer feedback and constantly looking for ways to improve our products, so we have decided to slightly change the recipes of our spreads. Flora recipes are designed to offer the best possible choice to everyone with a delicious taste and great performance across the range.
  • Has the amount of saturated fat changed in the Flora range?

    The amount of saturated fat has changed as we’ve enhanced the Flora recipes. The Flora range still contains less saturated fat than butter for a healthier heart.

    • Flora Lighter has changed from 6.2% saturates to 5.6% (now contains 0.56g saturates per 10g serving). Flora Lighter contains 90% less saturated fat than butter.
    • Flora 100% Natural Ingredients has changed from 18% saturates to 12% (now contains 1.2g saturates per 10g serving). Flora 100% Natural Ingredients contains 75% less saturated fat than butter.
    • Flora Buttery has changed from 32% saturates to 30% (now contains 3.0g saturates per 10g serving). Flora Buttery contains 50% less saturated fat than butter.
  • Does Flora contain hydrogenated fats?
    No, our Flora products do not contain hydrogenated fats.
  • Does Flora use artificial flavours, colours and preservatives.
    No, we do not use any artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.

  • Can I recycle Flora tubs?
     
    Flora tubs and lids are widely recyclable. Always check the recycling logo at the bottom of the pack if you are unsure.
  • What are Flora’s thoughts on using plastic packaging?
    As a responsible brand, Flora cares about the environment and the planet. Our tubs and lids are 100% recyclable. We are constantly looking for ways to make our packaging even more sustainable and we hope to be able to continue to improve our packaging sustainability in the future.
