Meatballs with Sweet Pepper Sauce

  • 25 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons semi-skimmed milk
  • 500 g lean minced beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small egg, lightly beaten
  • 15 g Flora Light
  • Sweet Pepper Sauce
  • 15 g Flora Light
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 sticks celery, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 300 ml beef stock

  1. Combine the breadcrumbs and milk in bowl and stand for 5 minutes. Mix in onion, herbs, sauce and egg. Add the mince and mix well.
  2. Shape tablespoons of mixture into balls.
  3. Heat Flora in non-stick pan, add meatballs and cook, shaking pan occasionally, until meatballs are browned. Drain on absorbent paper and then keep hot.
  4. For the sweet pepper sauce, heat Flora in a pan and add onion, pepper and celery. Cook, stirring until onion is soft.
  5. Stir in paprika, tomato paste and beef stock. Stir over heat until well combined.
  6. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 12 minutes.
